Patients: your clinical registry
Every order on TrazaLab starts with a patient. This view is your registry: operational KPIs, fast search, clinical profile, and a direct shortcut to each case's TrazaChat.

Opening Patients shows four KPIs at the top, a search bar in the middle, and your full patient list below. Each card shows the avatar, age, clinical notes, order count, and a TrazaChat shortcut to the latest order.

INSTANT SEARCH
Type part of the name or the record number and the list filters instantly. The search ignores case, accents, and dashes — type "maria" and you see María García, María Soto, and Maritza Peña without having to refine the query.
TRAZACHAT SHORTCUT
The CHAT button on each card opens TrazaChat for the patient's most recent active order. It is the fastest way to resume a lab conversation when you remember the patient but not the order number.
Why this view matters: Patients is the entry into the Create Order wizard. When you start a new order, the wizard asks you to pick a patient from the registry or create one — without a patient, you cannot move forward. Keeping the registry up to date makes every order start faster.
Before the first order
Create a new patient
Click + New patient at the top right. The form asks for minimum clinical identification — just enough to bind the case and give the lab context if needed.
REQUIRED FIELDS
Full name, date of birth (or age), gender, record number. With these fields the patient is registered and you can create orders for them. Email and phone are optional — useful if you want to enable the patient portal later.
RELEVANT CLINICAL NOTES
Free-text field to log what the lab should know: bruxism, metal allergies, history of fractures in previous prostheses, atypical occlusal parameters. These notes travel with each order — the technician sees them before starting fabrication.
WIZARD SHORTCUT
You do not have to return to Patients to create one. If you start Create Order and the patient does not exist yet, the wizard includes a + New patient button that opens the form without losing your order progress.
Recommended practice: Create the patient at first clinical contact, not when you are about to send the order. Having the patient already registered turns the Create Order wizard into a 1-2 click selection experience instead of 10 fields to fill.

The patient profile
Tapping a patient card opens the full profile: personal data, full order history, associated clinical files, and a restoration timeline.
RESTORATION TIMELINE
Every order you created for that patient appears on a timeline: restoration type, fabricating lab, delivery date, exact shade used. If the patient returns years later for an additional restoration, you look up the previous shade and material without guessing.
UNIFIED CLINICAL FILES
All clinical photos, STL scans, panoramics, and CBCTs you have uploaded for any order of this patient are grouped in their profile. If you need a file from a case 2 years ago, you find it here without opening the old order.
EDIT DATA AND NOTES
The profile is editable. If the patient changes phone or a new clinical consideration appears (started bruxism, lost a tooth), you update the profile from the same view. Changes reflect in future orders — they do not retroactively change historic orders.
Privacy and GDPR: Patient data is bound to your surgeon account — no other surgeon on the platform can see your patients. The lab only sees the minimum data needed to fabricate the piece (initials, age, relevant clinical notes), not the full record.
