LAB GUIDE

Equipment & Materials: your catalog

Without this catalog, the surgeon's order form shows up blank. Here you define what your lab actually accepts — materials, implant systems, capabilities, CAD/CAM software.

The catalog drives the surgeon's form
When a surgeon connects with you and creates their first order, TrazaLab populates the form options from your Equipment & Materials catalog. If your catalog is empty, the surgeon stares at a formless form — and goes to another lab.

HOW IT WORKS
Your catalog is a list of capabilities grouped by category (materials, implant systems, CAD/CAM software, clinical indications). Each capability has a toggle: active (shows up in the surgeon's form) or inactive (does not show up).
THE MOST COMMON MISTAKE
Accepting a surgeon connection before configuring the catalog. The surgeon opens Create Order, reaches the Material field, and the dropdown is empty. Phone call to the lab, credibility lost. Configure the catalog before accepting your first connection.
Recommended initial setup order: (1) Equipment & Materials — the capabilities you offer. (2) Pricing — the cost of each. (3) Lab profile. (4) Surgeons — receive or send invitations.
How the catalog is organized

The catalog ships preloaded with the most common categories and options in digital dentistry. Your job is to activate the ones your lab actually fabricates and deactivate the ones you do not.
MATERIALS
Monolithic zirconia
Lithium disilicate
PMMA
Feldspathic ceramic
IMPLANT SYSTEMS
Straumann
Nobel Biocare
Neodent
CAD/CAM SOFTWARE

ADD CUSTOM ITEMS
If your lab works with a material or system that is not preloaded, add it with the + Add button at the end of each category. It will show up in the surgeon's form tagged as a custom capability of your lab.
LIVE UPDATES
When you activate or deactivate a capability, the change reflects in the surgeon's session the next time they open the order form. They do not have to do anything on their side.
Operational tip: Do not activate capabilities you do not really own. If you turn on feldspathic ceramic but your team does not fluently fabricate it, you will receive orders you have to reject — bad signal to the surgeon. A short truthful catalog beats a long aspirational one.
How surgeons find you
The catalog is your public profile
When a surgeon searches for a lab on TrazaLab, they filter by capability ("works zirconia and handles Straumann"). Your lab shows up in results only if those capabilities are active in your catalog.
SEARCH BY CAPABILITY
A surgeon who needs a disilicate crown on Straumann will filter by exactly those two capabilities. If your lab does not have them marked active, you do not show up — even if you actually do them.
EMPTY CATALOG = INVISIBLE
A lab with no active capabilities does not appear in surgeon searches. The account exists but is invisible. The Visibility KPI in the header tells you your exposure percentage: active capabilities divided by total catalog.
INCREASE VISIBILITY
Every new capability you activate adds to visibility. The goal is not 100% — it is to activate exactly what your team executes well. A lab at 30% visibility on mastered capabilities converts better than a lab at 80% visibility on aspirational ones.
Connection to Pricing: Every active capability needs its price configured. An active capability without a price is useless: the surgeon sees it, tries to get a quote, and gets nothing. Activating and pricing are two steps of the same flow.
Catalog set, lab ready
Before accepting your first surgeon, spend 20 minutes configuring Equipment & Materials. It is the difference between a functional account and a useless one.
