INVENTORY CATEGORIES
Ceramic discs (zirconia, alumino-silicate), press blocks (disilicate, leucite), polymer discs (PMMA, PEEK), accessories (protocol screws, copings, waxes, abutments). You add the categories your lab actually works with.
MOVEMENT-SOURCE FILTERS
Each item has a movement history: purchase, manual adjustment, per-case consumption, loss. You filter by type to audit — if April had 5 losses, you see which items and why.
Not a full ERP: Inventory is light-weight, not a substitute for an industrial ERP. It is for 1-3-tech labs that need to know when to reorder — not for corporate operations with dozens of SKUs and vendors. If your lab already uses SAP, export the CSV and skip Inventory.
Delivered case → deducts material
Automatic consumption on case close
If you link each item in your Equipment & Materials catalog to an Inventory material, when a case is delivered TrazaLab automatically deducts the unit used. If you did not link, the count is manual.
HOW THE LINK WORKS
In Equipment & Materials each active capability has an optional "Inventory material" field. If for Zirconia crown you pick the item Zirconia disc A2 multilayer 98mm, each delivered zirconia crown deducts 0.25 units of the disc. You set the fraction per case (one disc yields ~4 crowns).
SELF-UPDATING INVENTORY
You do not have to open Inventory after every case. When the surgeon confirms reception, the case closes and the deduction happens. Your job shrinks to logging purchases (when discs arrive from the vendor) and reconciling occasionally if real loss differs from the calculation.
MANUAL ADJUSTMENTS
If you mill a failed case (zirconia cracks during sintering), the automatic deduction does not reflect it — the official case still has its unit. You adjust manually: open the item, enter Manual adjustment: -0.25 (sintering loss). It is logged and you can review monthly losses.
Prerequisite: Automatic consumption requires Equipment & Materials and the Inventory list to be current and linked. If you have 30 active capabilities and only 5 linked to items, automatic deduction only applies to those 5. The rest stays manual until you finish the linking.
Do not run out of material
Reorder thresholds and alerts
For each item you set a minimum threshold. When stock drops to that level, TrazaLab alerts you — in the lab panel, by email, or by WhatsApp depending on your settings.
THREE ALERT LEVELS
OK (green): above threshold. Warning (orange): near threshold, consider reordering. Low (red): below threshold, urgent reorder — you risk halting fabrication. You set the percentages that trigger each level.
WHATSAPP NOTIFICATIONS
If a critical material drops on Friday at 6pm and you notice on Monday, you lose Monday while the vendor delivers. Inventory alerts go to the WhatsApp configured in the lab profile so you know Friday and reorder Saturday.
SMART REORDER POINT
After a few months of clean data, TrazaLab calculates your monthly average consumption per item and suggests adjusting the threshold. Example: you use 8 zirconia discs per month, vendor takes 5 days — suggested threshold: 2.5 discs. Before accepting the suggestion, you check whether the numbers fit your lab.
LATAM reality: LATAM reality: vendor lead times in LATAM/Spain swing wildly. If your zirconia vendor takes 3 days when in stock but 3 weeks when importing, set the threshold conservatively. Excess stock beats halted fabrication; discs do not expire quickly.
Visible stock, uninterrupted fabrication
Inventory is optional, but a lab that runs out on Friday loses Monday. The alerts pay back the setup.
